Jump into the Shim-Sham

What: Join us for “Jump into The Shim-Sham,” a dynamic Tap dance workshop where you’ll master the classic routine using the Jump Rhythm Technique®. Under the expert guidance of Peter Hammer, you’ll learn the iconic Shim-Sham routine, a Tap dance standard much like a jazz standard for musicians, used to close Tap shows worldwide. This 3-hour workshop covers all the basic steps, patterns, and structures needed to perform The Shim-Sham with confidence and flair.

  • Who It’s For: Perfect for movers of all levels, from beginners to seasoned performers. (Ages 12+)

  • Experience Needed: No prior Tap dance experience is required—just a willingness to learn and have fun.

  • Equipment Needed: Tap shoes are recommended but not required. Clean, non-sticky soled shoes for indoor use, or even stocking feet, are acceptable.

  • What You’ll Learn:The Shim-Sham Routine: Master this classic Tap dance routine used to close shows worldwide.
